ZUMBA FOR PINK - a party in Purchase
The "Making Strides for Breast Cancer" walk was held in Westchester County and throughout the country today. A fellow Zumba instructor and breast cancer survivor, Amy Olin, invited me and some of her Zumba friends to join her in the warm up for the walk.
We woke up EXTREMELY EARLY. Myself and a few others were still getting over colds and bronchitis but made it to the site at 8am with our pink Z-gear and smiles.
I've done many of these walks in the past but this one was special. For starters, I was sharing it with a survivor and secondly, I was actually going to interact with everyone in the crowd.
And interact, we did!

I love the power of dance. It can heal, motivate, and unite people. We had people of all shapes, sizes, and ages dancing and smiling with us - men and women. Originally, we were asked to do three songs but the walk was delayed a few minutes due to a traffic jam and we were called for an encore. Of course, in true Zumba fashion . . . WE DELIVERED with two more songs. So awesome! Eyewitness News was there to catch the footage. Although you can't see me, you can definitely see our team.
As Peter Kunz, the reporter on Eyewitness News said,"it was a party in Purchase!"
